PUBLIC STRUCTURE AND SCULPTURES (MONUMENTS)
What is Monuments
A monument is a type of structure that was explicitly created to commemorate a person or important event, or which has become important to a social group as a part of their remembrance of historic times or cultural heritage, or as an example of historic architecture.
The origin of the word "monument" comes from the Greek Mnemosyne and the Latin moneo, monere, which means 'to remind', 'to advise' or 'to warn‘
Allows us to see the past thus helping us visualize what is to come in the future
In English the word "monumental" is often used in reference to something of extraordinary size and power, as in monumental sculpture
To mean simply anything made to commemorate the dead, as a funerary monument or other example of funerary art.

PUBLIC STRUCTURE AND SCULPTURES (Replication)
What is Replicas
A replica is an exact copy, such as of a painting, as it was executed by the original artist or a copy or reproduction, especially one on a scale smaller than the original.
A replica is a copying closely resembling the original concerning its shape and appearance.

It can be a copy used for historical purposes, such as being placed in a museum. Sometimes the original never existed.
It can be related to any form of licensing an image for others to use, whether it is through photos, postcards, prints, miniature or full size copies they represent a resemblance of the original object.
An inverted replica complements the original by filling its gaps.
Replicas in Art
In arts or collectible automobiles, the term "replica" is used for discussing the non-original recreation, sometimes hiding its real identity.
• Replicas have been made by people to preserve a perceived link to the past.
• This can be linked to a historical past or specific time-period or just to commemorate an experience.
• Replicas and reproductions of artifacts help provide a material representation of the past for the public
